Our Values

  1. Global Curiosity - We embrace a commitment to fostering intellectual humility, a desire for continuous learning about different cultures, and an open-minded approach to global issues.

  2. Servant Leadership - We emphasize ethical, others-focused leadership that seeks to elevate and serve the community rather than seeking personal power or recognition.

  3. Community-Engaged Action - We believe that learning and leadership are not theoretical but are demonstrated through active, purposeful, and collaborative engagement with communities locally and abroad.

Our Story

This program, borne out of an Atlanta Global Research and Education Collaborative (AGREC) funded grant, teaches interdisciplinary approaches to training globally engaged community leaders by providing students with a variety of hands-on learning opportunities through workshops and experiential learning strategically aligned with community and industry needs. The rationale for this program is for students from communities who traditionally do not participate in education abroad programs to benefit from these transformational experiences and augment any program of study through a series of relevance-focused workshops and problem-based study abroad experiences.

Student participants in this program will engage in a unique education abroad experience through a holistic program centered on hands-on problem-solving and career advising. These experiences are integrated across the program curriculum and address the collaborative and strategic goals of participating institutions. Additionally, students will learn how to more effectively document international experiences and communicate their skill set to a range of prospective international employers.
